True Blood Season Four: Soul of Fire

For one of the very few times this season I actually watched a complete episode, praying no one interrupted! Shocking moments were well placed and the pace of the action was good, which has been very rare to find this season. We are fast approaching the True Blood HBO season finale, and at least for me the feelings will be mixed.
Believable Characters
Throughout this season, I have personally struggled with why each episode has been such a disappointment. There have of course been the odd starts and stops, but it dawned on me with this episode what the true problem with true blood season four is, many of our favorite characters are simply not believable.
Sookie
This season Sookie has been as weak as milk toast and nothing she has done really makes sense. For instance, this week she joined the circle with Marny and the other witches knowing full well what this woman was all about. Why? Her lover is outside banned by a protection spell that will burn a vampire at first touch and yet she still jumps into the circle? Not buying it!
Moving right along to the fire ring, Sookie is standing in the middle of a ring of fire and she is screaming in mindless terror? Again, over done and nowhere near the reaction of the Sookie we have all come to know and love. Scream in rage? Yes! Call for Bill or Eric? Possibly!
Others
For the complete Season four of True Blood HBO it has been a remaking of characters, and in some instances it is working. A slightly tougher Jason is kind of nice all the while still leaving enough of his goofy self to make it believable.
Tougher Bill is also a bit believable, but the comment he and Eric make outside of Moon Goodess Emporium, simply does not make sense. F@&^g Sookie? Really? Come on writers, neither of them would have said that, let alone both of them!
It is kind of sad that the most believable characters this season have to be Terry and Arlene… and why do they matter?
Recap
Thankfully, through a series of events including Lafayette’s crazy weird boyfriend the protection spell over the witch’s haven is broken so that Bill and Eric can finally deal with Marny. Eric yanks the heart out of her only loyal lackey—
GROSS FACTOR! GROSS FACTOR!
We have seen a lot of blood, murder and weird crap in True Blood HBO seasons, but this week’s heart valve cocktail was just about the limit, at least for me! Eric sips away from the main artery like it is his very own cocktail straw! Can you say ewww?
Leaving Bill to finally end the necromancing witches reign of terror… or did he? At the end of tonight’s episode, Marny comes back to invade Lafayette! Next week is the last episode this season, and apparently, Bill and Eric are facing true death, AGAIN!
Bright Shining Moment
One other believable character this season is Alcide and finally he has kicked the V addicted trampy wolf to the curb! He Abjured Debbie this week! Book lovers you know what may happen next? Yea! One bright shining moment in a season of disappointments.
I personally do not know if the writers ever check out the fan sites… but I am hoping so! This season has had a couple of shining moments in nearly 12 episodes! Guys, get it together or this is one fan site that will not have much to say next season! True Blood HBO has been my guilty pleasure for 3 seasons….sad to contemplate it going!
